Leading boutique lifestyle PR firm, Bay Bird Inc, is now accepting resumes from interested candidates for a part-time freelance Publicist position in Los Angeles. This exceptional communications rockstars will be responsible for assisting our culinary team members on a range of exciting lifestyle accounts with a concentrated focus on our award-winning restaurant client portfolio.

Freelance Publicist, Los Angeles

Duties will likely include:

• Client and media relations for two culinary focused brands

• Developing and executing a client launch strategy, including the coordination of a launch media event

• Identifying synergistic community influencers

• Identifying strategic media targets

• Coordinating and facilitating interviews and media opportunities for clients

• Conceptualizing and developing engaging, thoughtful pitches, press releases and media alerts to inform targeted media of new client developments

• Tracking press coverage for monthly client reporting

• Fielding and fulfilling reactive media inquires

• Providing recommendations for smart, creative marketing initiatives

• Our ideal candidate should be an extremely creative, pro-active PR professional with a proven track record of assisting with all facets of lifestyle public relations and will possess all of the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience beyond internships working with clients in the culinary/restaurant space— either agency or in-house

• A deep passion and understanding of food and the inherent culture of food

• An outstanding grasp of the written and spoken word

• Experience working directly with media on a local, regional and national level (producers, bloggers, editors, freelance writers and reporters)

• Must be a strong communicator, able to support story angles with relevant, engaging pitch material, including tying in story lines with select social media platforms that will be managed in-house

• The candidate must be an excellent storyteller throughout every online and offline engagement opportunity

• Possess a vibrant personality and be inherently clued into the trends and culture of now

• Able to work seamlessly with the San Diego-based culinary team and provide sound recommendations for our LA market-based clients
